Break your landscape up into phases.
Start by drawing, or hiring a professional to draw your plan. Don't be afraid to shoot for the moon with the plan either. Consider it a master plan to work from. Add water features, pools, patios, decks, etc. After all, it's your Stay-Cation resort.
Next, do the hardscape. Build the retaining walls, get the water fall done, plant trees, have the bed areas prepared. And that's it. Fall is a great time for hardscaping.
Soil & Plantings. Spread the fresh top soil in the bed areas. Buy, layout, and plant all the perennials, shrubs, etc. Spread the bark. Seed, hydro-seed, or sod and be done. Breaks the expense up nicely.
